The Los Angeles Dodgers recently released All-Star Chris Taylor, who has since found a new home, not too far away, with the Los Angeles Angels. The utility man spoke on his time with the Dodgers after inking a deal with the Halos on Monday.

“It was emotional. I’ve been on the Dodgers for nine years, but I do believe it was time for me. It was my time to kind of start fresh, you know, hopefully turn the page, start a new chapter. I’m excited to do that here.”

Taylor first appeared in MLB with the Seattle Mariners during the 2014 season. After hitting .240 in Seattle, he was traded to the Dodgers after a pair of appearances for the Mariners in the 2016 campaign.

The 2017 season put Taylor on the map as he easily became one of the most productive pieces in L.A. He finished the regular season with career-highs in batting .288, slugging .496, and an OPS of .850.

During the postseason, Taylor hit .254 with seven RBIs and three home runs on the way to securing the National League pennant. Taylor would share the 2017 NLCS MVP honors with Justin Turner.

Taylor would be one of the few constants amid the many changes the Dodgers have seen since 2016, but he has continued to be a consistent and core roster piece and a beloved member of the clubhouse.

Taylor ended his tenure with an All-Star honor, helping the Dodgers win four NL pennants, two World Series rings, and making countless memories for Dodgers fans worldwide. He begins the next chapter of his baseball life in Anaheim, starting Monday evening’s contest in centerfield.
