Back-to-back World Series rings haven’t stopped the Los Angeles Dodgers from being aggressive in roster-building, and as we all know, it’ll continue. As crazy as it might sound to some, the Dodgers will have another player or two on their roster come October of 2026.

In a trade proposal from Ryan Shea of Sports Illustrated, Los Angeles would break baseball by landing ace left-hander Tarik Skubal from the Detroit Tigers. The deal would give up a lot, but Skubal is the type of arm that would make this an easy trade to make.

Dodgers receive: Skubal

Tigers receive: Zyhir Hope, Jackson Ferris, Emmet Sheehan, James Tibbs III

“The Dodgers would make a trade for Tarik Skubal because their window to win now is wide open, coming off back-to-back World Series victories and boasting one of the most talented rosters in baseball,” Shea wrote.

Adding Skubal would elevate a rotation that’s already the best in baseball. He’s also been healthy and that would add another dynamic to the Dodgers roster.

“Adding an elite ace like Skubal would immediately strengthen a rotation already built to compete at the highest level, giving them a true frontline starter capable of dominating in both the regular season and playoffs,” Shea added.

For Detroit, the return would emphasize long-term upside with multiple high-ceiling arms and outfield talent to continue being a decent team.
