DETROIT, Mich. (WILX) – “Every era deserves its moment, and these uniforms are ready for the spotlight.”
That’s the message from the Detroit Tigers as the club rolled out new alternate uniforms on Thursday ahead of the 2026 season. Coming off two straight postseason appearances, the Tigers are looking to keep the momentum going in this new era, with a young core of players that has reinvigorated the fan base.
The Tigers released two new sets on Thursday, prominently featuring the team’s orange and blue. The designs “pay tribute to the electric passion and resilient spirit that’s carried the Tigers through generations of triumphs, including their unforgettable 1984 World Series Championship,” the team said in a press release.
“They signal the team progressing confidently into the future while being firmly rooted in tradition. Every era deserves its moment, and these uniforms are ready for the spotlight.”
The home alternate features an orange jersey donning the famous Olde English D on the chest and white pants with orange and blue piping. It’s the first time in franchise history the Tigers will wear an orange jersey.
The road alternate is navy blue with the script “Detroit” wordmark across the front and gray pants with orange and blue piping.
Both uniforms are completed with a blue hat, orange D logo and orange bill. They also both have a modern take on the team’s classic round logo.
The uniforms will go on sale this weekend on the Tigers website.
