NightSide News Update. We kick off the program with four news stories and different guests on the stories we think you need to know about! For one of our segments this evening, we will be joined by John Powers, a veteran Olympics correspondent with the Boston Globe, who will chat with us about the highlights of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan, Italy and how U.S. Athletes have fared.

SCOTUS Strikes Down Trump Tariffs. The U.S. Supreme Court strikes down a large chunk of President Trump’s trade policy on global tariffs in a majority vote 6-3. How does this decision affect the economy? The stock market? Dr. Gregory Stoller, professor at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business, will join us tonight to discuss this topic further.

In The Japanese Ballpark. Baseball historian and author Robert Fitts will join us tonight to talk about how baseball is the national pastime of both the United States and Japan but the two countries approach and play the game differently both on the field and away from it. Robert will talk baseball with Dan and help fans gain a greater understanding and appreciation for Nippon Professional Baseball (Japanese baseball)!
