GOODYEAR, Arizona − It’s not the Opening Day, but it’s a kind of opening day.
The Cincinnati Reds begin Cactus League spring training games at 3:05 p.m. Feb. 21 against the Cleveland Guardians, their training-complex neighbors in Goodyear, at nearby Goodyear Ballpark.

The game can be heard to WSAI (1360-AM) and seen on streaming at Reds.TV.

Chase Burns will start against the Cleveland Guardians in the Reds’ spring training opener. Burns is scheduled to pitch two innings.
With Chase Burns set as the Reds starting pitcher (he’s scheduled to throw two innings) and be opposed by Cleveland starter Logan Allen, here are the batting orders and defensive alignments the Reds and “Guards” will go with for this quasi-opening day.

Eugenio Suarez will start at third base for the Reds when they meet the Cleveland Guardians Feb. 21. Suarez is preparing to play for Venezuela in the World Baseball Classic.
