Justin Crawford has a modest 11 game hitting streak going and has gotten on base in all but 1 games this month (while pinch-hitting, mind you) in 86 plate appearances. He improved his season line to .328/.395/.437. Crawford could likely be a big piece dangled this trade deadline if the Phillies are looking to seriously improve the OF or bullpen. Mick Abel is back from his amazing MLB debut with another outstanding effort. Otto Kemp mashed homers 11 and 12 this week. Gabriel Rincones hasn’t had a hit in his last 8 games (24 AB). Buddy Kennedy saw his 15 game hitting-streak end, in which he batted .414/.507/.776 with 5 HR in 58 AB.

Jersey Shore BlueClaws (17-27, 14.5 games back in division)

Alex McFarlane – 3 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 4 BB

Dylan Campbell – 4 for 20, 3 R, 2B, 3B, HR, 3 RBI, 2 BB, 9 K, SB
Eduardo Lopez – 2 for 8, HR, 2 RBI, K, HBP
Zach Arnold – 4 for 19, 2 R, 2 BB, 3 K
Bryson Ware – 6 for 15, 5 R, 2B, 2 HR, 2 RBI, 2 BB, 5 K

Not a stellar week for Alex McFarlane as he was riding quite the hot streak and catching some attention. Bryan Rincon’s bat woke up after calling him out last week. He mashed his 4th HR of the season and is up to 15 stolen bases. Is DeMartini’s power finally awakening? There isn’t much “pure power” in the Phillies system outside a few obvious ones (Tait, Escobar, Rincones), but DeMartini showed it in college. He hit his 2nd and 3rd homers of the season and his first since way back on 4/8.

Eduardo Tait – 8 for 23, 3 R, 2B, HR, 5 RBI, 7 K
Griffin Burkholder – 2 for 11, R, 2B, 3B, BB, 2 K, HBP
Avery Owusu-Asiedu – 2 for 14, 2 R, HR, 3 RBI, BB, 3 K, HBP

Kodey Shojinaga – 7 for 17, 3 R, 2 2B, 4 RBI, K

Not an other-wordly week for TGP favorite, Aroon Escobar, but still saw him get on base at a solid clip and steal two bases. Make that 7 dingers for Eduardo Tait who raised his season line to .284/.323/.490. The 18 year old has been great in full-season ball, though the K/BB could be better (37:7 in 155 AB). Carter Mathison has just 19 hits in 116 at-bats, but 9 of them have been for extra-bases including his 5th homer this week.
