San Francisco (2-0) hosted its first home baseball game on Sunday in spring training. The Giants defeated the Cubs (0-3), 4-2, at Scottsdale Stadium in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Sunday marked the second spring training game under first-year manager Tony Vitello. He served as Tennessee’s head coach from 2018-25.

Against Chicago on Sunday, former Vol Drew Gilbert served as a pinch runner for Harrison Bader in the fifth inning and played left field. Willy Adames grounded out to first baseman Owen Miller and scored Gilbert.

The former Vol went 0-for-1 in the contest.

The Giants recorded a triple play in the first innings against Chicago. The Cubs scored on a wild pitch and a fielder’s choice for their two runs.
