Thairo Estrada turned 30 years old on Sunday.
On Monday, he got a contract.
The Baltimore Orioles announced that they’ve signed Estrada to a deal as Spring Training gets rolling.
The utility infielder from Venezuela has a chance to make the team thanks to his versatility.
Estrada spent the 2025 season with the Colorado Rockies. In 39 games at the MLB level, he hit .253 with nine doubles and three homers.

Estrada’s first two big league seasons were 2019 and 2020 with the New York Yankees, and he mostly struggled.
After that, it was four campaigns with the San Francisco Giants, and Estrada was solid in the Bay Area.
Estrada began his Giants tenure with a .273 average in 2021 and an .813 OPS.
In 2022, he hit 14 homers and stole 21 bases. The next season, he hit 14 more homers and stole 23 more bases.
Estrada struggled in 2024 (.217 average), which led him to the Rockies for last season.
All told, he’s a career .251 hitter at the MLB level.
Estrada has played second base, shortstop, left field, third base, right field and centerfield. The Orioles can trust him to hold down a variety of spots on the diamond, and he’ll try to prove his bat is still good enough to make the team.
