BALTIMORE, MD (WBFF) — The Baltimore Orioles have added another infielder in the wake of an injury to third baseman Jordan Westburg.

The team announced on Monday that it has signed infielder Thairo Estrada to a minor league deal with an invite to Spring Training.

Estrada, 30, could compete for an infield role at least in the first month of the season.

Formerly a productive regular with the San Francisco Giants in 2022 & 2024, Estrada has appeared in only 135 games over the past two years with the Giants and Colorado Rockies.

Over 39 contests with the Rockies in 2025, Estrada hit .253 with 3 HR’s and 21 RBI’s.

Estrada has experience at second base, third base, shortstop, and the outfield.

He could become an important depth piece depending on how the Westburg injury plays out.
