Southern Miss was the biggest mover in Week 2, jumping from No. 24 to No. 15 after a 4-0 week that featured wins over Southeastern Louisiana, Purdue, Oregon State and Baylor. The Golden Eagles opened the season with a series win at home over UCSB.

Three teams dropped out, including TCU falling from No. 11 to unranked after losing to UT Arlington and getting swept at UCLA. The Horned Frogs have a complicated resume; they have wins over two ranked teams (Arkansas and Vanderbilt), but are 2-5 overall and weren’t really competitive in two of the three games at UCLA.

Michigan (1-3 for the week) and Kentucky (2-2) were the other two teams that dropped out. The three new teams are Texas A&M, West Virginia and Wake Forest.
