Docs: Probation given to teen arrested in connection to Marty Brennaman statue vandalization

The teenager arrested and charged in connection to the vandalization of a statue of legendary Cincinnati Reds broadcaster Marty Brennaman has been placed on probation, according to court records.Last October, police said they had arrested a 13-year-old seen on surveillance video pulling on the statue’s microphone, which was damaged after the fact.Documents say the teen’s initial charge of vandalism has been amended to criminal damaging/endangering, a second degree misdemeanor.Records say the teen has been placed on probation. Restitution was also ordered in the amount of $3,700.00 to the Reds.The juvenile was also ordered to stay away from Great American Ball Park until Oct. 5, 2029. The statue, unveiled last September, has been removed for repairs following the incident. It’s expected to be back in its place for Opening Day on March 26.
