The Milwaukee Brewers posted a short clip to their social media accounts Tuesday showing pitcher Jacob Misiorowski delivering a pitch off the mound, and teammate Cooper Pratt sitting on a box at home plate while the right-hander perfectly plunked a red apple perched on Pratt’s hat.

The apple fell off. Pratt turned around to face Misiorowski, unhurt. The video doesn’t lie.
Or does it?
In this case, it did.
According to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, “it was a trick of the trade from the video production team that includes senior manager of digital content Ezra Siegel, senior videographer and creative lead Carter Green and senior editor Cody Oasen, who have been playing around with ideas to reach young baseball fans.”
Misiorowski touched 104 mph last year with his fastball. The 6-foot-7 right-hander went 5-3 with a 4.36 ERA in 15 games — his first season in Major League Baseball.
The idea of such an intimidating pitcher throwing a baseball with so little margin for error didn’t seem to phase Pratt, a 21-year-old prospect. That’s what made the clip so believable — and had the internet abuzz for a few hours Tuesday.

Not only did it look real, no AI data centers were harmed in the making of this video. (Or baseball players.)
