Former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Joe Kelly is known for sporting his mariachi jacket, and after a visit to the Honda Center, he has a new orange one to rock.
Kelly showed up for the Anaheim Ducks game Wednesday night, and he sported a personalized jersey.
He also walked away with a Ducks orange mariachi jacket, courtesy of the Ducks performers Mariachi Nuevo Jalisciense.
“‘Mariachi Joe’ got his own mariachi jacket!,” the team wrote on social media.
Why Does Joe Kelly Wear the Mariachi Jacket?
Kelly is an Anaheim native and his mother is Mexican-American.
He received the jacket from musician Grover Castro in exchange for his jersey, and he wore it to the White House after the Dodgers’ 2020 World Series title.
He has given only one current Dodger permission to follow in his fashion footsteps: Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
Kelly has given the World Series MVP permission to don the mariachi jacket.

The short answer is no, but Kelly would dispute it if you said he retired.
“I ain’t playing” is how he referred to it when speaking with Rob Bradford on the Baseball Isn’t Boring podcast.
“There’s no such thing as retirement for athletes. Retiring is something my grandmother did. Let’s cancel the word retirement, it’s used for people who served in the military, for people who worked til 65. You guys deserve to retire, athletes don’t.”
Though he’s done on the mound, he left Dodgers fans with plenty of fond memories.
Perhaps most notably, he confronted the Houston Astros once news of their sign-stealing became public, taunting Carlos Correa after striking him out.
Kelly punctuated the moment with a pouty face and a devastating comment: “Nice swing, b—.”
He’s also made headlines recently by admitting that the Astros’ scheme was an open secret among players.
“I said, ‘Duh,” he told host Drew Richard on The BSBLR Show. “There’s no way these average players are f—ing barreling me, you know what I mean? … No sh—, duh. There’s no way Jake Marisnick could hit my f—ing slider.”
