SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) – Former Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Mike Lavalliere sat down with WWSB Chief Meteorologist Bob Harrigan to discuss his ties to the Bradenton area, his time with the Pirates, and his continued presence in the community.

Lavalliere moved to Bradenton after he was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1988.

In the interview, Lavalliere reflected on his memories with the Pirates and his experiences living in Bradenton. He also discussed the ways he has given back to the local community.

Lavalliere shared his thoughts on spring training in Florida, including what he considers his favorite part of the annual tradition.
