The 2025 Bowman’s Best checklist has finally arrived—and it was worth waiting for.

While “Bowman’s Best” is just a brand name, the term “best” could easily be applied to this product’s autograph checklist, which is one of the most spectacular in recent memory, especially for the prospect seekers in the Baseball America audience.

Bowman’s Best also sprinkles in signatures from the top current players in the game, including Shohei Ohtani, Paul Skenes, Nick Kurtz and Bobby Witt Jr., as well as the hottest young rookies, like Roman Anthony and Jac Caglianone.

And because “why not,” Bowman’s Best also added in dual, triple and even quadruple auto cards mixing these players into all kinds of fun combinations. One chase that caught our attention here at BA: a quadruple auto featuring the last four No. 1 MLB Draft picks in Willits, Travis Bazzana, Skenes and Jackson Holliday.

Bowman’s Best is available in only one format—a hobby box containing four autographs—so any break of this product is guaranteed to offer some fun results right off the bat. Beyond the autographs, Bowman’s Best is a fun release because it combines the best prospects with the best current players and recent draftees in an all-Chrome format.

Ahead of its much-delayed release—currently slated for March 11—BA subscribers can read our deeper dive into the full checklist for 2025 Bowman’s Best.

Lots Of Autograph Chases

We’re less than a month removed from the release of 2026 Topps Series 1, which celebrates 75 years of Topps baseball with a star-studded autograph checklist that’s literally a who’s who of baseball history.

And while Bowman’s Best does not have as many legends as Series 1 on its auto checklist, it can just about match up to Series 1 on current players with autos, as the only major name missing from Bowman’s Best auto checklists is Aaron Judge.

That said, Bowman’s Best tops Series 1 in one very key area—prospects and new draftees. All the names collectors have been targeting for months and even years will have ink in the release, as will most of the 2025 draftees, as this set marks only the second Topps release to feature last year’s picks following last month’s Bowman Draft.

As we mentioned, the list of dual, triple and quadruple auto chases is impressive. In addition to the previously mentioned quad auto with the last four No. 1 draft picks, here are a few other multi-player autos on the checklist:

Another prospect-heavy quad auto featuring Willits, Wetherholt, Made and George Lombard Jr.

A pitcher-dominant quad auto featuring Skenes, Tarik Skubal, Max Fried and Garrett Crochet

Triple autos featuring top prospects for individual teams, including a Tigers card with McGonigle, Max Clark and Bryce Rainer, and a Red Sox card featuring the recently graduated Anthony, Kristian Campbell and Marcelo Mayer. There are also a ton of dual autos, such as one with Griffin and Bubba Chandler of the Pirates and one with Made and Luis Peña of the Brewers.

Or how about a dual Royals auto with Caglianone and Bobby Witt Jr., a Nationals dual with James Wood and Dylan Crews or a dual Athletics auto with Kurtz and Jacob Wilson?

And again, just because “why not,” a triple auto featuring Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Roki Sasaki, along with a dual of Yamamoto and Sasaki.

The single autos in the set are just as wide-ranging and just as impressive. While this is a Bowman product that’s obviously very prospect-heavy, current mega-stars are also all over this list. Besides the players mentioned earlier, you can also find Ronald Acuña Jr., Mike Trout, Julio Rodriguez, Corbin Carroll and more.

There’s also a full checklist for autographed prospect patches, such as this Caglianone card with the interlocking KC:

So, with four guaranteed autographs per box, buckle up—this is likely to be a very fun rip.

Special Inserts To Chase

Let’s start with what’s not on the 2025 Bowman’s Best checklist: Anime cards. While Topps may have purposely left this hugely popular insert off the early checklist to surprise collectors closer to release day, it’s also possible they simply decided to keep the Anime chase confined to just Bowman and Bowman Chrome. Whatever the case, be aware that as of now, there is no Anime chase in this release.

That being said, the popular Strokes of Gold insert will be returning in this year’s set, featuring the biggest names in the game, including Judge, Ohtani, Kurtz, Willits and more.

Popular inserts such as Bowman Showpieces and the Futures Game will also return, and a new addition to the Bowman’s Best insert line this year is Best-Tek, which will also feature autograph variants.

What We’re Hunting

Konnor Griffin & Kevin McGonigle: The Griffin market is already exploding on the heels of his two-homer game earlier in spring training, and McGonigle, who graces the cover of our upcoming issue of the Baseball America magazine, is only the third player in BA history with an 80-grade hit tool. These guys are both legit and could be breakout stars very soon. This might be your last chance to chase these two at even halfway reasonable prices before the entire hobby is jumping all over them.

2025 draftees: They say that all good things are worth waiting for, and the delays in 2025 Bowman Draft’s release this year have definitely not hurt sales prices on cards for top picks. No, these aren’t 1st Bowman cards, but your first post-Bowman Draft chance to grab licensed cards of Willits and company is nothing to sneeze at, especially with their markets still red hot. If you’re planning on going the draft pick route, be sure to read Matt Pajak’s recent story highlighting 2025 first-rounders you may want to pump the brakes on first.

Double, triple and quadruple autos: The combinations here are so fun that any of these combo ink cards are likely to be hot chases.

Teams To Target In Breaks

Beyond the Yankees and Dodgers, here are a few teams well worth a look in breaks:

Pirates: Sure, Paul Skenes is all over this set, but the reason we’ve listed the Pirates is Konnor Griffin. Already No. 1 on BA’s Top 100 Prospects list, his two-homer game early in spring training and potential for making history on Pittsburgh’s Opening Day roster as a teenager has put the baseball world on notice—and the hobby has responded in kind. Griffin is all over this set and, again, it might be your last chance to acquire his stuff at a fairly reasonable price. Another reason we like the Pirates here? Seth Hernandez, who might have the highest upside of any player in the 2025 draft.

Tigers: Moving just one spot down BA’s Top 100 list brings us to McGonigle. He may not have the spring training hype of Griffin, but the sky’s the limit for him this season and beyond. Add in teammate Max Clark (another prospect in BA’s overall top 10), plus auto chases for Tarik Skubal and a family triple auto featuring Cecil, Price and Jadyn Fielder that will likely go to the Tigers spot in most breaks since two of the three are in Tigers garb on the card, and Detroit could be a safe bet.

Brewers: Made, Jackson Chourio and Jacob Misiorowski all signed cards in this set. Not bad!

Nationals: Crews, Wood and Willits are present, including on the Strokes of Gold checklist, which only has 25 players total. Enough said.

Where To Buy & Formats

As mentioned earlier, Bowman’s Best comes in one format only—a hobby box featuring four guaranteed autographs. The presale price on the Topps website was $339.99 per box (the release-day price has not yet been confirmed). On the resale market, boxes are trending around $450 online ahead of release.

Bowman’s Best is scheduled to be released on Wednesday, March 11 on the Topps website and at major retailers and breakers.
