After six games of Spring Training, some players are already making splashes and showing the Rangers they could make a difference.

1) Josh Jung

Jung has gotten off to a good start in Spring Training with a .333 batting average. However, Corey Seager is hitless right now, so take Spring Training results with a grain of salt.

The encouraging thing about Jung has been his exit velocities with multiple over 100 miles per hour, including his first two, which were 100.5 and 101.7 off the bat.

Going back to a wrist injury he sustained in 2024, Jung has struggled with his exit velocities and ranked near the bottom half of the league.

Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for the third baseman and he can be a big bounce back candidate for the Rangers.

2) Sam Haggerty

This is someone that I was really happy to see the Rangers bring back.

While yes, Sam Haggerty isn’t the biggest name and isn’t an everyday player, what he does do, he does really well, and he fills a big hole for the Rangers. With Adolis Garcia gone and Carter struggling against them in his career, plus having another lefty in the outfield in Nimmo

He is a lefty killer as he hit over .300 against them in 2025 with the Rangers. He has kept that up in spring training; he is hitting .714 with six RBIs in seven at-bats.

Those are insane numbers, and he won’t hit like that in the regular season, but it is good to see that he is swinging a hot bat.

3) Carter Baumler

Baumler was a rule five addition by the Rangers and already looks like he could be a big part of their bullpen. He has appeared twice for the Rangers in Spring Training, totaling two innings, allowing no runs while striking out three.

In a year where the closer role seems to be up for grabs, Baumler seems like he could pitch himself into the mix, and if not, he could still be an important arm in a bullpen that needs arms.
