The Texas Rangers scored two runs while the Toronto Blue Jays scored zero runs.

After scoring just one run through the first 16 innings of this series, the Rangers finally broke through for a couple of runs. Two ended up being one more than was needed as six Rangers pitchers combined to blank the Blue Jays.

Nathan Eovaldi’s evening was short as they left after just two innings with a fatigued triceps. That’s not very pleasant but the issue is supposedly not considered to be serious.

With Eovaldi out, the Rangers turned to Jacob Latz for the bulk of the innings and he turned in three scoreless frames. Shawn Armstrong, Hoby Milner, Luke Jackson, and Robert Garcia combined for the final four innings as Texas searched for those elusive runs.

Those runs did eventual come and with Corey Seager expected to return tomorrow, perhaps the lineup can get something going.

Player of the Game: The Blue Jays walked Wyatt Langford to face Josh Jung and Jung made them pay with a two-out, RBI single in the bottom of the eighth that ultimately proved the difference in tonight’s game.

Up Next: The finale of this series will feature RHP Tyler Mahle for Texas against a pitcher that Toronto has not yet named.

The Wednesday evening first pitch from The Shed is scheduled for 7:05 pm CT and will be broadcast via the Rangers Sports Network.
