Shohei Ohtani launched his MLB-leading 20th home run of the season, his third in as many games, as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Cleveland Guardians 9-5 on Tuesday.

Ohtani reached 20 in his 53rd game of the season, the fastest in his eight years in the major leagues. His two-run opposite-field shot to left off Tanner Bibee pushed the Dodgers’ lead to 4-0 in the top of the fourth inning at Progressive Field.

Daniel Schneemann’s three-run home run pulled the Guardians within a run in the bottom of the fourth.

But the Dodgers extended their lead again by scoring one run each in the sixth and eighth. Max Muncy added a three-run homer in the ninth.

Ohtani finished the night 1-for-3 with the two RBIs, two walks and two strikeouts. The Dodgers have taken the first two games of the three-game series.

Dustin May (3-4) picked up the win after allowing three runs and striking out nine in five innings. Bibee (4-5) took the loss.
