Saitama Seibu Lions Belluna Dome to be newly equipped with summer facilities to cool down

To cool down Belluna Dome area, Saitama Seibu Lions ‘s home stadium, large umbrellas and mist poles will be installed in the plaza in front of the dome, and long fans will be installed in infield area and circulators will be installed in backstop area.

Last season, in response to the recent extreme heat, Belluna Dome was equipped with a large-scale mist system and waterfall system called “BIG WATERFALL” to cool it down, and environmental improvements were implemented to suit the characteristics of a dome stadium that coexists with nature. This season, new summer facilities will also be installed.

Seven new large umbrellas will be installed in the plaza in front of the dome, which will serve as the waiting area for purchasing tickets and merchandise, and eight more mist poles will be added to provide shade and cooling to reduce the heat. A total of 32 long fans will be installed in the front row aisle of infield area, with 16 on each side of first and third base. Ten circulators will be installed in the front row aisle of backstop area to promote ventilation and improve the viewing environment.

Starting on Sunday, March 1st, TV commercials filled with the opening mood will be broadcast on five Fukuoka commercial stations. In addition, to liven up downtown Fukuoka from the start of the season, life-size acrylic stands of players will be set up in various locations around Fukuoka City as photo spots from Friday, March 20th (national holiday).

Fukuoka Softbank has signed a naming rights contract with Hotel Okura Fukuoka Co., Ltd. for the “The Hawks History Room” at MIZUHO PayPay Dome. As a result, the official name of The Hawks History Room will be “The Hawks History Room supported by Hotel Okura Fukuoka.”

The Hawks History Room was newly established as part of the 85th anniversary of The Hawks’ founding and the 30th anniversary of the opening of the dome, which took place in 2023. The room displays equipment used by players and autographed balls, creating a space where visitors can feel closer to the history of The Hawks and their players.
