The Boston Red Sox lost to the Baltimore Orioles 8-7 in Spring Training baseball on Sunday, March 1st and are now 5-4 in Grapefruit League play.

Newly acquired Ranger Suarez. making his 2nd appearance,  started for the Red Sox and went 3.0 innings allowing 2 hits and 1 run. He struck out 2.

Aroldis Chapman came on in relief pitching 2/3 of an inning and walked 1, allowed 1 hit and struck out a batter.

Wilson Contreras who was the designated hitter was 2-2 with a double and homer, driving in 3 runs for Boston.

Caleb Durbin, playing 2nd base was 2-2 . with a double and a run batted in.

On Monday, the Red Sox will take on the Toronto Blue Jays at 1 p.m. Johan Oviedo will make his 2nd start for Boston. Against the Twins on February 25th he went 1.2 innings allowing 3 walks, 1 hit and struck out 1. Also scheduled to pitch are Ryan Watson, Kyle Keller, Seth Martinez and Jeremy Wu-Yeleand.
