FORT MYERS, Fla. — Garrett Crochet will take the hill for the second time this spring as the Red Sox meet the New York Yankees for the first time since last October’s AL Wild Card Series at Yankee Stadium.

The stakes will obviously be a lot lower this time, and Wednesday’s Red Sox lineup includes an intriguing addition.

Enddy Azocar, a 19-year-old outfield prospect who was originally signed as an international free agent out of Venezuela in 2024, will start for the Red Sox in right field. Azocar is ranked as Boston’s No. 12 prospect according to MLB Pipeline’s newly released Top 30 list, and he has made a strong impression since initially signing for just $40,000.

Carlos Narvaez is also back in the lineup at catcher after he was scratched from Tuesday’s lineup with back tightness. Marcelo Mayer will start at second base and Caleb Durbin at third base again, and Andruw Monasterio will start at first base as the Red Sox continue to assess their options for the back-up first base job while Romy Gonzalez and Triston Casas are sidelined.

Justin Slaten, Payton Tolle, Tayron Guerrero and Noah Song are scheduled to pitch for the Red Sox as well, and Luis Gil is expected to start for the Yankees.
