JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WCYB) — Historic and memorable.

Those are just two simple words to describe what ETSU baseball is and has been in 2025 as they are set to embark on playing on the big stage of the NCAA Regional in just two days.

After clinching the program’s first-ever Southern Conference Tournament crown, the Bucs learned their fate in the Regional on Monday – where they will take their 41 wins to Nashville in hopes of extending their season to the Super Regional.

As the Bucs pack up the bus and take off on Wednesday afternoon, they are soaking in the moment of a lifetime and enjoying each second with one another in what they know is a special year.

I have not taken one out of this year for granted because this is a special team, a special group and it’s been a lot of fun,” said head coach, Joe Pennucci. “The fact that we’ve done it shows a lot of character and resilience of this group to be able to say ‘hey this is ours from start to finish.’ It’s a special team. I love being around them and hanging out with them. Glad we get another week together. It’s about just extending the season for those seniors and knowing those guys only have a little bit left to play this game,” said junior, Cody Miller. “Whether it’s this week, couple more weeks or whatever it is, just continue to work hard and give it what we got.

The Bucs are set to take on Louisville to open the Nashville Regional on Friday afternoon.
