KANSAS CITY, Mo. — If you’re considering purchasing the Kansas City Royals’ new streaming service, Royals.TV, you can get a free preview of what’s to come for the 2026 season on Thursday evening.

While much of the Royals’ Spring Training games in Surprise, Arizona are not broadcast, fans can watch Thursday night’s game for free, the Royals say. The Royals will be taking on the Texas Rangers, with first pitch set for 7:05 p.m. at Surprise Stadium.

To watch, log in or sign up with an MLB account on the MLB App or MLB.com, and select the game from there. No credit card will be required, and MLB accounts are free to set up if you don’t have one already.

In addition to play-by-play announcer Jake Eisenberg and analyst Rex Hudler, Thursday evening’s game will feature the debut of Royals.TV reporter Bridget Howard after the team announced her hiring on Wednesday.

Fans will also get to see Royals ace toe the slab during Thursday’s game– he’s set to make his second start of this year’s Spring Training. Other Royals to keep an eye on for Thursday’s matchup are second baseman Jonathan India, catcher Carter Jensen, first baseman Josh Rojas and outfielder Lane Thomas.

If you can’t watch the game Thursday night, or if one game isn’t enough of a sample to decide whether or not to purchase Royals.TV for the upcoming season, there will be three other free games this spring as well.
