Changes To Cubs Television & Streaming In 2026
While other teams are gradually having their broadcast rights acquired by MLB Local Media, the Cubs’ relationship with Marquee Sports Network remains strong. They’ll continue to offer a direct-to-consumer streaming option through their website and the Marquee Sports Network app.
What is Marquee Sports Network?
Marquee’s Direct-To-Consumer (DTC) product is still the simplest way for in-market fans to stream Cubs games during the regular season. At the cost of $19.99 per month, you’ll no longer need to deal with all of the complexities of blackouts or a cable subscription. For additional questions, feel free to visit Marquee’s FAQ page here.
For out-of-market fans, the standard option is an MLB.TV subscription remains the same. If you’re a first-time subscriber, it’s important to note that MLB.TV will include a free trial of ESPN+ that will automatically renew unless canceled. The subscription is currently priced at $29.99 per month or $149.99 for the whole season.
Although the Cubs are one of the few teams still dependent on a regional sports network, those days may soon be coming to an end. Marquee Sports Network finished the year on a less-than-ideal financial note, and in the not-so-distant future, the Cubs could be joining teams such as the Brewers, Padres, and Twins in deploying a streaming package in partnership with MLB Local Media.
The Difference Between MLB.TV & Marquee Sports Network
An MLB.TV subscription will work for anyone outside the Cubs’ blackout region. To check whether your region is blacked out, you can use this MLB blackout tool.
Over-The-Air Cubs Games
At this time, the Cubs have not announced plans to broadcast any games over-the-air.
