Marquee Sports Network is adding itself to a popular subscription for Cubs fans to watch games (with a price, of course).

In 2020, Marquee Sports Network became the new home of Chicago Cubs baseball. As other teams continue to scramble with the fall and collapse of regional networks like FanDuel Sports Network, the Cubs have comfort in owning their own network to broadcast their games.

Currently, DirecTV and Xfinity (Comcast) are the two major providers that carry the network in their lineup (with package upgrades). FuboTV streaming service also carries the network, while streaming services Hulu+ and YouTube TV do not.

Marquee Sports Network also has an app that fans can subscribe to for $19.99 per month to watch Cubs games and other content. However, now, rather than downloading the app, fans have a new option to watch Cubs games a tad more conveniently.

Marquee Sports Network is Now Offered Within Prime Membership, Still Need to be In-Market to Watch Cubs Games

As reported by Streaming Smarter, Marquee Sports Network is now offered on Amazon Prime as an extension. For the same price as the app subscription, $19.99, Prime subscribers can add Marquee to their Prime subscription to watch Cubs games and other network content. However, just the same as with any platform offering the network, subscribers must be in-market to watch Cubs games through the network, app, or Prime subscription.

If you are an “out-of-market” Cubs fan, you will still need to subscribe to MLB.TV to watch Cubs games. MLB.TV is $29.99 per month, or $149.99 per season for new subscribers.

An important note is that MLB.TV is now owned by ESPN. You do not have to have an ESPN Unlimited plan to watch the MLB.TV games. However, each new signup is automatically subscribed to a 1-month free trial of ESPN Unlimited.

If you are a new subscriber just wanting to watch Cubs games, make sure you go into your ESPN account and cancel your subscription to Unlimited so you are not automatically charged after the free trial expires.
