It’s nearly baseball season, Cincinnati!
The Cincinnati Reds and Major League Baseball’s other 29 teams return to action this month.
The Reds will play their first game of the 2026 regular season on March 26 at Great American Ball Park, followed by a four-game homestand. The majority of the league also plays that day, with some games spilling into Friday. However, the actual MLB season kicks off a day earlier in San Francisco.

The annual Findlay Market Opening Day Parade in Over-the-Rhine kicks off at noon on March 26.

The Cincinnati Reds announced March 9 that a “number of” regular-season games will be broadcast for free on Fox 19 (WXIX-TV) in Cincinnati. The first game under the new agreement will be the Reds’ Opening Day matchup.

When does the 2026 MLB season start?
The first game of the 2026 MLB season will be played in San Francisco. The New York Yankees will face the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park on Wednesday, March 25. The first pitch is slated for 8:05 p.m. ET.
The game will be available for streaming exclusively on Netflix.
The Reds’ first game of the season is Thursday, March 26. Cincinnati will play a home opener against the Boston Red Sox at 4:10 p.m. ET at Great American Ball Park.
