Alex Bregman and Roman Anthony are teammates again.

After they spent last season together with the Boston Red Sox, Bregman moved on during the offseason, signing with the Chicago Cubs.

However, they’ve reunited on Team USA in the World Baseball Classic, sharing a lineup again for the first time since last September.

While he only spent one season with Anthony, Bregman can already tell that he has a bright future and a long career ahead of him.

“Roman’s like a brother to me. I loved playing with him last year,” Bregman said on “MLB Office Hours.” “He is, hands down, gonna be a superstar in this game…He’s gonna be one of the best players in the game for a long time.”

Bregman also praised Anthony’s power, plate discipline, defense and baserunning, as well as his intangibles like baseball IQ and confidence.

That means a lot coming from Bregman, who’s heading into his 11th Major League season and has played with and against many outstanding players.

Despite being just 21 years old, Anthony is already incredibly polished for his age. He proved that again on Monday with his three-run homer against Mexico, helping Team USA beat Mexico for the first time in 20 years.

There’s nothing Anthony can’t do on a ballfield, and the sky’s the limit for him heading into his first full MLB season. The Red Sox are counting on him to build off his impressive rookie year and help anchor their lineup this season, especially with Bregman and Rafael Devers no longer around.
