Rutschman, Mullins back in lineup for Orioles after both sidelined multiple games

Catcher Adley Rutschman and centerfielder Cedric Mullins are both back in the Orioles lineup following both being sidelined for multiple games.

Rutschman was hit in the facemask with a Rafael Devers foul ball in the final game of the Orioles series against the Boston Red Sox last weeked, but he will avoid a stint on the IL and is hitting second as designated hitter in the Orioles Wednesday game vs. St. Louis.

Cedric Mullins was out of the Orioles lineup since the team returned to Baltimore.

Interim manager Tony Mansolino said the center fielder was in need of a couple days rest.

“Just trying to give him a couple days,” Mansolino said. “The day games, the doubleheader, it beat him up.”
