The Stoughton baseball team ended its regular season with a pair of Badger Small Conference losses to Baraboo.
Stoughton lost to Baraboo 10-6 on Thursday, May 22, at Stoughton High School and then 7-1 on Friday, May 23, at Mary Rountree Evans Athletic Field.
Despite the losses, the Vikings (10-15, 4-10 Badger Small) have won four of their last six games and enter the WIAA Division 2 tournament as a No. 10 seed. Stoughton will take on seventh-seeded Edgerton on Thursday, May 29, at Edgerton High School. The winner takes on second-seeded Jefferson on Tuesday, June 3, in Jefferson.

Stoughton scored the first five runs of the game, but Baraboo rallied thanks in part to a seven-run fourth.
Givon Storkson spearheaded the Stoughton offense, driving in three runs off two hits. Storkson also pitched a team-high 3 â…” innings, allowing one earned run on four hits. Reign Altenburg had one hit, an RBI and a run.

Baraboo scored all seven in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a scoreless tie.
Saxton Wiest went 2-for-3 at the plate. Wiest started on the mound for Stoughton and allowed no earned runs in five innings. He struck out six and issued just one walk. Storkson had one hit and also scored Stoughton’s lone run.
