SEC baseball began conference play over the weekend. A handful of national title contenders squared off, including a top-five showdown between Arkansas and Missouri. LSU and Vanderbilt, two of the most storied programs in the SEC, met in Nashville. In Athens, a thrilling series unfolded between Tennessee and Georgia.

It’s time for our first SEC baseball standings check-in of 2026. It’s early, but the time to start building a tournament resume is now. The SEC schedule is tough, and teams can bolster their case to host a regional week in and week out. It’s a long season, and wherever a team stands now probably isn’t where they will be in May, but the wins stay wins and the losses stay losses.

Three SEC teams began the year with sweeps: Kentucky, Auburn, and Florida. Alabama, Missouri, and South Carolina were on the wrong ends of those brooms. Kentucky’s win streak, the longest in the SEC, is up to 13.

As for LSU, the Tigers are 1-2 after dropping a series at Vanderbilt.
