One of the newest Texas Rangers had quite the gift for one of his teammates.
Rangers outfielder Brandon Nimmo, acquired during the offseason in a trade for Marcus Semien, posted a video to his Instagram account on Sunday featuring himself presenting fellow outfielder Michael Helman with a brand new, unboxed Rolex watch.
The reason? It’s a “thank you” present after Helman gave up his jersey No. 24 in order for Nimmo to wear it as a Ranger.

“Helman graciously gave me his number when I was traded, and I could not be more thankful to him,” Nimmo wrote on Instagram. “As you can see from the video, he is an absolute gem of a human being! Enjoy buddy!”
To Helman’s credit, he didn’t seem like he was expecting such a gift for the act. His immediate response upon seeing the box was “No … Seriously, dude,” but he was eventually cajoled into accepting the watch.
Nimmo also posted a video of Helman unboxing the Rolex and showing it off to his teammates, Josh Smith and Jake Burger among them.
Rangers fans might take it as a positive sign on where the clubhouse stands after reports of some shaky chemistry followed a disappointing 2025 season.
A selling point of the Nimmo trade was that the veteran is a great clubhouse presence, signs of which have already been visible at Rangers spring training.
Add this to the list of signs from Arizona that things might be a little different this year, culture-wise, for the Rangers.
