ST. CLOUD — Sawyer Lochner and Grady Young collected two hits and two RBIs apiece for the No. 3-seeded Pierz Pioneers in an 11-7 win over the No. 6-seeded Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines in the Section 6-2A Quarterfinals Wednesday, May 28.
Brayden Haberman doubled and tallied two runs and two RBIs. Brecken Andres also doubled.
Nathan Solinger struck out 11 in seven innings for the win. He allowed seven runs on eight hits and two walks.
WDC’s Cooper Ness went 2-3 with a walk, two runs and an RBI. Carson Davis, Kobe Snyder and Leo Petrowski doubled for the Wolverines.
Ben Krekalu collected two hits. He also allowed seven runs on six hit and three walks in 3.2 innings.

ST. CLOUD — Staples-Motley’s Kris Taylor tallied one hit, one run and one RBI for the No. 7-seeded Staples-Motley Cardinals in a 4-3 loss to the No. 2-seeded Royalton Royals in the Section 6-2A Quarterfinals Wednesday, May 28.
The Cardinals tied the score 3-3 in the top of the seventh on a Ben Tyrrell single that scored Taylor. The Royals walked it off in the bottom of the seventh with a one-out single.
Cooper Tappe pitched 6.1 innings and allowed four runs on six hits and two walks. He struck out eight.
Colbe Tappe and Cooper Tappe recorded a run and a hit. Eli Kosan also tallied a hit.
