ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — With the regular season fast approaching, the Atlanta Braves are continuing to trim their roster ahead of their March 27 opener against the Kansas City Royals.
The team reduced its spring training roster to 43 players on Monday after optioning infielder Aaron Schunk and outfielder Brewer Hicklen. The Braves must finalize a 26-man roster before Opening Day.
Atlanta returns to action Wednesday against the Philadelphia Phillies at 1 p.m. live on Gray Media.

Southpaw Martín Pérez (0-0, 4.00 ERA) is scheduled to start Wednesday for Atlanta.
