OPENING DAY IS ONE WEEK FROM TOMORROW, AND THIS SEASON COMES WITH SOME MAJOR UNKNOWNS. >> FANS STILL DON’T KNOW WHERE THEY CAN WATCH THE GAMES ON TV. ALSO, AS YOU KNOW, CONSTRUCTION RIGHT AROUND THE BALLPARK IS A MAJOR ISSUE. >> NICK BOHR IS LIVE AT AMERICAN FAMILY FIELD TONIGHT. NICK. WHETHER IN PERSON OR AT HOME, GAME DAY PRESENTS QUITE THE CHALLENGE RIGHT NOW. >> RIGHT? AND FIRST, THAT TRAFFIC PART. YOU CAN SEE WHY IT’S AN ISSUE. THE FREEWAY THAT’S BEING RECONSTRUCTED RIGHT IN FRONT OF AMERICAN FAMILY FIELD. HERE, FANS ARE GOING TO HAVE TO ADJUST TO THE I-94 HASSLES. BUT AS YOU SAID, ANOTHER BIG QUESTION REMAINS AS WELL. HOW ARE FANS GOING TO WATCH THE GAMES ON TV. >> AND HE BROUGHT IT BACK. >> FOR YEARS, NEARLY EVERY BREWERS GAME HAS BEEN EASILY ACCESSIBLE ON CABLE. >> TOOK A LITTLE LONGER THAN WE WANTED, BUT SUMMER SEEMS LIKE IT FINALLY ARRIVED IN MILWAUKEE. >> OVER THE YEARS, VIEWERS NAVIGATED TO THE VARIOUS INCARNATIONS OF FOX SPORTS NET TO BALLY SPORTS WISCONSIN, AND THEN FANDUEL SPORTS LAST YEAR, AND NOW SOME VERSION OF MLB TV THIS SEASON. I MEAN, I DON’T LIKE IT, BUT I’M NOT GOING TO GO AND PAY ALL THIS EXTRA MONEY EITHER. >> THE CABLE CHANNEL ISN’T THE ONLY UNCERTAINTY. THE CONSTRUCTION ON I-94 IS EXPECTED TO CREATE SOME HEADACHES, WITH THE TEAM URGING FANS TO TRY ALTERNATE ROUTES LIKE BLUEMOUND ROAD GREENFIELD AVENUE. >> THERE’S GOING TO BE A LEARNING CURVE FOR EVERYBODY AND YOU KNOW, DIFFERENT ROUTES WILL BE OPEN. WE’RE WORKING WITH D.O.T. TO MAKE SURE LANE CLOSURES ARE MINIMIZED DURING GAMES. AT THE SAME TIME, WE UNDERSTAND THAT CONSTRUCTION HAS TO MEET A CERTAIN DEADLINE. >> AND NICK, ON THE TRAFFIC FRONT, THE BREWERS ORGANIZATION IS MAKING PLANS FOR POTENTIAL PROBLEMS, OR AT LEAST HOPING TO HEAD THEM OFF. >> RIGHT? THEY’RE ACTUALLY FUNDING THREE ADDITIONAL SHERIFF’S SQUADS TO BE OUT DURING GAME DAYS TO TRY TO CLEAR UP ANY PROBLEMS THAT MIGHT POP UP. FANS MAY CHOOSE AS AN ALTERNATE AS WELL. TAKING A LOT OF THOSE SHUTTLES THAT GO DIRECTLY TO THE BALLPARK. With the Milwaukee Brewers’ Opening Day just eight days away, fans are facing uncertainty regarding cable TV options and potential traffic challenges due to construction near American Family Field. Construction on I-94 is a significant concern, as fans will need to adjust to the roadwork hassles. Additionally, the question of how fans will watch the games on TV remains unresolved. For years, Brewers games have been accessible on cable through various networks, including Fox Sports Net, Bally Sports Wisconsin, and FanDuel Sports. This season, the games are expected to be available on some version of MLB.TV, but the exact cable channel remains unknown. Brewers President Rick Schlesinger addressed the concerns Wednesday. “Those deals are being negotiated as we speak. I suspect, as in the case like the last few years, they’ll get done just a few days before Opening Day, so I can assure fans, if they’re used to watching games on cable, satellite and streaming, they’re invariably going to have very similar options for 2026.”While streaming is an option, some fans are hesitant to pay extra for it.”It sucks, not being able to watch them on TV. It really hurts. I don’t like it. But, I’m not going to go and pay all this extra money either,” Brewers fan Greg Beals said. In addition to cable broadcast uncertainties, the construction on Internet 94 is expected to create traffic headaches. The team is urging fans to try alternate routes, such as Bluemound Road and Greenfield Avenue. “There’s going to be a learning curve for everybody. And, different routes will be open. We’re working with DOT to make sure lane closures are minimized during games. At the same time, we understand construction has to meet a certain deadline,” Schlesinger said. To address potential traffic issues, the team is funding three additional Milwaukee County Sheriff’s deputies on game days. The Brewers have also hired a towing company to have a truck on site to quickly remove any blocked lanes. Some fans may opt for shuttle buses from local bars, although the closest county transit bus stops are about a 20-minute walk from the ballpark. While Opening Day is March 26, American Family Field is hosting two preseason exhibition games with the Cincinnati Reds March 23 and 24.Top HeadlinesWoman with no license, 6 children in car, charged in deadly West Milwaukee hit-and-runBrewers players win World Baseball Classic with VenezuelaFranklin Common Council approves music festivals at The Rock despite noise complaintsWATCH Downtown Milwaukee steakhouse announces sudden closure
