Sinkhole near Busch Stadium should be fixed for opening day

ST. LOUIS—The Saint Louis Water Division confirmed the sinkhole on Spruce near Busch Stadium will not swallow any fly balls next week.

Crews spent much of Thursday filling the sinkhole and making repairs to things that were broken by debris.

A spokesman said after filling the hole, it will take a few days for the new concrete surface to settle.

They’ve been keeping the Saint Louis Cardinals updated and are certain the roadway will be back-to-normal well ahead of Opening Day.
