Texas State baseball will attempt to break its five-game losing streak Friday as it starts a weekend series against Louisiana.

Texas State has tabbed pitcher Kyle Froehlich for the first start, who has struggled as of late. He only lasted two innings against ULM, giving up seven runs (four earned) on nine hits. The UT-Tyler transfer hasn’t performed well against Group of Five competition, and his presence is needed even more since pitcher Nolan Moore is out for the season.

Louisiana is coming off a series win over South Alabama and defeated Houston in extra innings Tuesday, its sixth win over a Power Four team this season. Starting pitcher Sawyer Pruitt has a 1.74 earned run average in 31 innings pitched.

Here are live updates from Texas State’s opening game against Louisiana.
