DONALDSON — The Ouachita Warriors came ready for a huge and intense non-conference showdown on the diamond Thursday at Warrior Field but fell short to the visiting Murfreesboro Rattlers 5-3 in baseball action.

Even though Ouachita collected seven hits to Murfreesboro’s six in the batter’s box, the Warriors still fell short in a two-run loss Thursday.

Aiden Hardage and Boe Bridges each collected two hits for the Warriors. Judd Smith, Sylar Freeman and Jasper Jones each powered a hit apiece—while Tyler White, Bridges and Jones each sparked for a run.

On the mound, White struck out 11 batters and also surrendered five hits and four runs over six innings while walking three and faced 28 batters and threw 69 strikes across the plate.

Freeman threw an inning, allowed one hit, one earned run and launched five strikes while facing four batters.
