Ukiah 8, Arroyo 4

The Wildcats blasted four home runs against the Dons to secure their fourth win in a row Saturday.

George Gibbs hit two home runs for three RBIs, Jonny Van Hoy also homered with three RBIs and Ollie Adams hit a two-run homer.

On the mound, Beau David earned the win, firing four shutout innings with four strikeouts and six hits allowed.

The Wildcats resume NBL-Oak play next week against Windsor and Rancho Cotate.

Petaluma 7, Miramonte 3

The Trojans picked up another solid win to wrap up the bulk of their nonleague slate Saturday.

Tied 2-2 after four, Petaluma (7-2) took control with four runs in the top of the fifth.

Offensively, Dalton Deadman drove in a pair of runs and Ben Vollmer had two hits with an RBI.

On the mound, Jason Bienier earned the win, going four innings with three strikeouts, a walk, four hits and two earned runs allowed. Vollmer earned the save in the seventh.

The Trojans begin Vine Valley Athletic League play this week with a two-game series against Napa.

Casa Grande 8, Maria Carrillo 4

After a high-scoring start, the Gauchos’ bullpen shut down the Pumas in a nonleague victory Saturday.

Carrillo (5-4) scored three runs in the first but trailed 6-4 after three before Casa (5-2) extended its lead with two more runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Ian Flores had a big day at the plate for the Gauchos, going 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs. Abel Nolasco also had two hits with an RBI and Jack Mountanos doubled with an RBI.

Miles Nicholas earned the win but surrendered four runs on 10 hits with five strikeouts over 3 1/3 innings. Tyler Pelissetti, Adam Mercado and Mountanos held the line the rest of the way, limiting the Pumas to just two hits and no runs over the final 3 2/3 innings.

Tysen Norlund had two hits, including a triple, with two RBIs for the Pumas, while Ben Starks and Andrew Godfrey each had two hits with an RBI.

Casa Grande begins VVAL play with a two-game series against Justin-Siena, while Maria Carrillo will face Rancho Cotate in its return to NBL-Oak action.

Justin-Siena 12, St. Joseph Notre Dame 1 (5 innings)

The Braves’ bats were hot again as they rolled past the Pilots on Saturday for their fourth straight win.

It’s the third time over its winning streak that Justin-Siena (6-2) has scored 10 or more runs.

Xiano Ortega led the offensive attack, going 3-for-3 with a home run, his second of the year, a triple and three RBIs. Griffin Messenger also homered and doubled with three RBIs and Braeden Butler had two hits with an RBI and two runs scored.

Messenger, Alex Winske and Sebastian Ruiz combined on the mound for nine strikeouts and four hits allowed.

The Braves will look to keep it rolling in their first VVAL series of the season this week against Casa Grande.

Healdsburg 17, Lick-Wilmerding 1

The Greyhounds won their second game of the week by a score of 17-1, throttling the Tigers in a nonleague game Saturday.

Masel Radelfinger doubled in a two-hit day with three RBIs, Frank Rea drove in three runs on two hits, Isaiah Robles had two hits with an RBI and Noah Wong had two RBIs on a hit.

Henry Smith also had two hits, including a double, and struck out nine with two hits allowed in four innings on the mound. Anthony Espinoza finished the job with seven strikeouts over a perfect final three innings.

Healdsburg (7-2) will open NBL-Redwood play on Wednesday as host to Analy.

Sonoma Valley 14, Terra Linda 0 (5 innings)

The Dragons won their third game in a row in dominant fashion, routing the Trojans with their bats and arms in a nonleague game Saturday.

Sonoma Valley (5-2) leapt out to a 5-0 lead after one and never looked back.

Johnny Campbell had four hits, including two doubles, with three RBIs, Cayden Waldrop drove in three runs and Chris Murphy tripled with a pair of RBIs to lead the way offensively.

Max Trexler was lights out on the mound, striking out four and yielding just one hit over five innings on just 49 pitches.

The Dragons will begin VVAL play with a two-game series against Vintage.

Elk Grove 7, Cardinal Newman 6

The Cardinals nearly rallied from a four-run deficit but came up just short in another close nonleague battle Saturday to a top-25 team in the state

Newman (3-4) trailed 7-3 after five innings and narrowed the gap to one after putting up three runs in the bottom of the sixth. The Cardinals got the tying run to second in the bottom of the seventh but Elk Grove (8-1), ranked No. 23 in the state by CalHi Sports, ended the game with a pair of strikeouts.

Jace Wooley went 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs for the Cardinals, while Jamie Vozaitis had two hits with two RBIs.

The Cardinals will play state No. 14 College Park on Wednesday before resuming NBL-Oak play against rival Windsor on Friday.

Campolindo 10, Vintage 8

The Crushers nearly rallied to another late victory, but their comeback effort came up just short on Saturday in a nonleague road clash with the Cougars.

Vintage (4-4) trailed 10-4 after five and scored two runs in each of the sixth and seventh innings. The Crushers got the tying run to second with one out in the seventh, but a strikeout and a groundout ended the threat and gave Campolindo (7-1) the win.

Parker Dahl doubled in a two-hit day with an RBI and Sam Mautner drove in a pair of runs to pace the Crushers offensively.

St. Helena 11, Credo 2

The Saints dispatched the Gryphons on Saturday in nonleague play.

St. Helena (5-5) led 5-2 after four and put the game to bed with five more runs in the sixth.

Dean Sommer doubled with two RBIs while Hughie Davies, Oli Harvey and Charlie Blaum each had an RBI apiece. The Saints had just five hits in the game.

Julian Earls struck out eight while allowing four hits and one earned run over six strong innings on the mound.

Eureka 8, Rancho Cotate 4 / Eureka 2, Rancho Cotate 1

The Cougars lost both games of a doubleheader on the road to the Loggers on Saturday, extending their losing streak to six games.

In the first game, a 2-1 loss, Rancho Cotate (3-7) pitcher Aiden O’Sullivan held Eureka (8-4) to just two hits while striking out six with no walks but the Cougars were doomed by four errors.

In the second game, Eureka took control early with six runs in the first inning. The Cougars staged a bit of a rally in the bottom of the seventh as they scored two runs and threatened for more with the bases loaded, but a strikeout ended the game.

Luke Morie had two hits and scored twice in the loss while Porter Purdue, Dominic Zarate Lindzy and Caden Bolin Percy had an RBI each.

The Cougars will look to snap their skid this week against Maria Carrillo and Ukiah as they resume NBL-Oak play.
