COLUMBIA — Jake Randolph homered twice and South Carolina upset No. 4 Arkansas 9-4 to give the Gamecocks their first win since Monte Lee took over for Paul Mainieri as baseball coach.

The Gamecocks (13-12, 1-5 SEC), who snapped a seven-game losing skid, lost a heartbreaker the day before in Lee’s first game since Mainieri stepped down. This time, USC took charge early, taking a 5-0 lead on the strength of homers by Talmadge LeCroy, Randolph and Tyler Bak.

Randolph’s second homer, a shot to right center in the sixth inning, was followed later in the inning by Bak’s RBI double to make it 8-2.

Randolph finished 3 for 3 with a walk, two homers and three RBIs, while Bak was 3 for 5 with a homer, double and three RBIs. Luke Yuhasz went 2 for 4 with an RBI.

USC starter Brandon Stone allowed two runs on five hits and two walks in 51/3 innings, striking out five against Arkansas (18-7, 4-2).

Notre Dame 7, No. 19 Clemson 4

NOTRE DAME, IND. — Notre Dame allowed only four of 17 baserunners to score in its 7-4 victory over No. 19 Clemson at Frank Eck Stadium on March 22 to sweep the series 3-0.

Nate Savoie was 4 for 5 for Clemson (18-7, 1-5 ACC), which outhit Notre Dame 13-8. Jacob Jarrell was 2 for 4 with an RBI and Luke Gaffney 2 for 5 with an RBI.

Tigers starter Drew Titsworth (3-1) suffered the loss in four innings after allowing three runs, two earned, on five hits to go with five strikeouts.

Noah Coy had two hits and drove in two for the Fighting Irish (14-6, 6-3).

College of Charleston 6, UNC Wilmington 3

MOUNT PLEASANT — Dylan Johnson went 2 for 3 with a homer, double and three RBIs as College of Charleston beat UNCW 6-3 at Patriots Point.

Jake Amman also homered for Charleston (10-13, 5-4 CAA), which handed the Seahawks (16-8, 5-1) their first league loss. Amman finished 2 for 4 with a walk, while Jackson Berini was 1 for 2 with a double, two walks and two RBIs.

Carson Bryant and freshman Kaden Myers combined to allow just one run across the first 61/3 innings.
