Spring training is over and the regular season is almost here for the Toronto Blue Jays.

The 2026 season begins Friday night at Rogers Centre, but not before final cuts are made.

Yariel Rodriguez, Jorge Alcala, and Angel Bastardo were reportedly told on Sunday that they didn’t make the opening day roster. That leaves two more decisions for freshly re-signed manager John Schneider to make.

Expect one more cut to come for a position player, and another for a relief pitcher.

Per multiple reports, fan favourite Davis Schneider could be on the chopping block. It’s down to him or Leo Jimenez among position players. The other decision left to come is in the bullpen, between relief pitchers Chase Lee and Spencer Miles.

Final decisions are expected to be made on Wednesday.

Competition for Blue Jays final bullpen spot has come down to Chase Lee and Spencer Miles

Final bench spot will be one of Davis Schneider or Leo Jimenez

All will travel to Toronto Monday night. Expect club to make final decisions by Wednesday afternoon

The Blue Jays begin the season with six-straight home games this year, starting with a three-game series against the Athletics. The Colorado Rockies are their opponent for a three-game series beginning on Monday.

The first road trip is just three games long, against the Chicago White Sox, beginning April 2.

A World Series rematch awaits the Blue Jays when they get back to Toronto, as the Los Angeles Dodgers are in town April 6 to 8.
