FORT MYERS, Fla. (KLTV) – Former Hallsville Bobcat Justin Slaten tossed a scoreless inning of relief in Boston’s 9-6 loss to the Minnesota Twins in a spring training contest on Monday.
The 28-year-old has a 5.40 ERA in 6 2/3 innings this spring.
Slaten entered the game in the fifth inning. With a runner already on first base, Slaten forced Royce Lewis to ground into a 6-4-3 double play. After issuing a walk to Austin Martin, Slaten forced Tristan Gray to ground out to end the inning.
The Red Sox wrap up spring training Tuesday against the Twins before beginning the regular season on the road Thursday in Cincinnati against the Reds.
