Several local student-athletes are taking the next step in their academic and athletic careers, recently announcing commitments to compete at the collegiate level.

At Twin Lakes, senior Carson Wagner will continue his education and baseball career at Wabash College.

The announcement marks the next chapter for Wagner as he prepares to compete at the college level.

Fellow Twin Lakes student Ethan Need has also committed, signing to play football at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Tri-County senior Madilyn Nevitt will continue her softball career at Northern Illinois University, where she will pitch for the Huskies.

Nevitt played a key role in a strong season for the Lady Cavaliers last year, helping lead the team to a 24-3 record.

On the mound, Nevitt compiled a 13-3 record with a 3.19 ERA and recorded 149 strikeouts over 85.2 innings.

These commitments reflect the hard work and dedication of local student-athletes, both in the classroom and in competition.

As they prepare to graduate, each will carry their talents to the collegiate level while representing their hometown communities.

More local commitments are expected in the coming weeks as spring signing opportunities continue.
