Colorado baseball fans are ready for a new season with the Colorado Rockies’ opening day only a few short days away on Friday, April 3, against the Philadelphia Phillies. Sure, the Rockies have been living up to their name over the past few rocky seasons, but a new year means new hope.

This year, you may want to challenge yourself while you are at a home game at Coors Field. There is a new challenge for you to attempt throughout the nine innings of a Colorado Rockies game.

How the 9-9-9 Challenge Came to Colorado

The 9-9-9 Challenge is being offered at Coors Field this season, and if you can take it on and win, the glory will be all yours. Aramark Sports + Entertainment has partnered with competitive eating star, Joey Chestnut, to create the 9-9-9 Challenge at select ballparks this season.

One of them happens to be right here in Colorado. The challenge consists of nine mini hot dogs and nine flight-sized beers throughout the nine innings of a Colorado Rockies baseball game. The 9-9-9 Challenge was first introduced in 2025 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, during the Phillies’ postseason.

Coors Field Is One of Only Six Stadiums Offering the 9-9-9 Challenge

Currently, there are only six ballparks that will offer the 9-9-9 Challenge:

Part of me wishes that the MLB and Aramark Sports + Entertainment added three more stadiums to round out the “9”  theme.
