Guardians finalize Opening Day roster

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The Guardians Opening Day roster is set after a flurry of moves Wednesday.

The team placed pitchers Andrew Walters, Hunter Gaddis and outfielder George Valera on the injured list.

Cleveland also designated OF Jonathan Rodriguez for assignment and called up Rhys Hoskins.

The team will carry 3 catchers, 3 outfielders and 7 infielders.

The season opener is Thursday in Seattle (10 p.m.).

Cleveland ranks 28th in team payroll but has won back-to-back division titles under AL 2-time Manager of the Year Stephen Vogt.
