Kaelen Culpepper’s breezed through the Minnesota Twins’ farm system, and many believe the 23‑year‑old shortstop is inching closer to an eventual major‑league debut. The former first‑round pick will open the 2026 season at Triple‑A St. Paul, placing him one stop away from Target Field and firmly in the club’s plans heading into the year.

Culpepper chatted with members of the Twin Cities media Wednesday afternoon at CHS Field in St. Paul.

“Starting out at big league camp, I learned a lot, was around some veteran guys.” Culpepper said, reflecting on his development this spring. “I got a lot of advice from the staff and everybody. There’s a lot to take away. I’m just ready for the season.”

Drafted with the 21st pick in 2024, Culpepper has quickly become the Twins’ second‑ranked prospect.

“He is a great talent, and can do a little bit of everything on a baseball field,” said new Saints manager Brian Dinkelman. “We’re excited to have him start the season here with us. Just to help him grow his baseball knowledge and instincts of the game. He’s very cool in his demeanor and the way he carries himself on the ball field.”
