Peja Goold pitched the second no-hitter for the staff this season for the Mississippi State Bulldogs with 13 strikeouts during Wednesday’s 7-0 win against the Skyhawks.

“Peja is one of the best pitchers in the country and she has really shown that all year long,” MSU head coach Samantha Ricketts said.

The Bulldogs scored six of the seven runs in the first three innings. The second inning was helped by a two-run home run by Kiarra Sells.

Sells added a double for two of the nine hits for MSU. Pinch hitter Kenley Keller also had two hits, both singles, while Nadia Barbary and Morgan Bernardini had one double each for the other extra base hits.

The Bulldogs now turn their attention to the next Southeastern Conference series against South Carolina at home. It will be a Saturday-Sunday-Monday set.
