The Hanshin Tigers won last year’s Central League title in such dominant fashion — by 13 games — that it probably helped spur a change to the playoff format.
So if the Tigers win the league title by more than 10 games again this year, they will start the final stage of the Climax Series with an automatic two-game advantage.
That might not be entirely out of the question.
