SEATTLE — The Seattle Mariners are one sleep away from the first game of the 2026 season.
The Mariners will kick off the year with the first of a four-game series against the Cleveland Guardians at 7:10 p.m. PT on Thursday at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.

The series against Cleveland will mark the first four of a seven-game homestand for the defending American League West champions.
It was announced days ago that Logan Gilbert would get the nod on Opening Day. A day before Gilbert’s start against the Guardians, Seattle manager Dan Wilson revealed how the rotation will slot out the rest of the homestand.
George Kirby will start in Game 2 against Cleveland on March 27, Bryan Woo will get the nod in Game 3 of the series March 28 and Emerson Hancock will get the nod in Game 4 against the Guardians on March 29.

The Mariners will close out the series with a three-game set against the New York Yankees, which will take place from March 30-April 1.
Luis Castillo will start Game 1 against the Yankees March 30, Gilbert will be up again March 31 and Kirby will close out the homestand in Game 3 against New York on April 1.
“We’ve got a rotation full of guys that can start tomorrow night,” Wilson said at a team workout Wednesday at T-Mobile Park. “It’s a great group, it’s a great pitching staff. And we talk about the bond that they have with each other — I think it’s great that Logan’s going to be able to (start Opening Day) for the second time now in a row. I think, again, it’s about what’s ahead of us and how we’re rolling. And I think these guys are all anxious to get the ball that first time and get out there.”

Right-handed pitcher Bryce Miller, who was limited to 18 starts last season due to bouts of right elbow inflammation, will begin the season on the 15-day injured list due to an oblique strain. The soonest he’ll be able to return will be against the Houston Astros on April 10 at T-Mobile Park, which will be Game 1 of a four-game series between the two AL West foes.
The Mariners were 4-2 overall and split two series against the Guardians last season. Seattle swept Cleveland in a three-game series from June 13-15 and dropped two of another three-game set from Aug. 29-31.
