Blake Krass shares his top fantasy baseball Pick6 picks and plays for MLB Opening Day on Thursday, March 26.
MLB Opening Day has arrived! There are far more ways to get involved in the action than just via traditional betting. One of the more unique features on DraftKings this year is Pick6 Fantasy Baseball!
Here are my top Pick6 plays for today’s MLB slate.
MLB Opening Day Picks
Shohei Ohtani More Than 0.5 Plate Appearances (Promo Pick)
The folks at DraftKings Pick6 are giving customers a fantastic promo pick for Opening Day. This pick can be added to any DraftKings Pick6 entry, and it hits as long as Shohei Ohtani steps up to the plate once against the Diamondbacks. The reigning NL MVP is set for another monster season, but all this pick requires is Ohtani showing up to the ballpark.

Tyler O’Neill More Than 0.5 Home Runs
Thanksgiving dinner, Fourth of July fireworks and apple pie. All are great American traditions. However, they pale in comparison to Tyler O’Neill hitting a home run on Opening Day. O’Neill has hit a home run on Opening Day every year of this decade. Mr. Opening Day first hit what seemed to be an innocuous home run on Opening Day for the Cardinals in 2020. He went on to do it again with the Cardinals each of the following three years. There was worry the magic would wear off when he moved to the Red Sox. However, O’Neill hit a home run in his first game with the Red Sox as well. O’Neill moved teams again last season, becoming an Oriole. To no one’s surprise, Mr. Opening Day went 3/3, including a home run, in his first game with Baltimore.
This season, O’Neill remains a Baltimore Oriole. He will face off against Joe Ryan and the Twins on Opening Day today. That will be a nice sight for O’Neill, who is 1/2 in his career against Ryan, with that one hit being a home run. O’Neill’s Opening Day confidence will only be bolstered by seeing a pitcher that he has homered off before.

Bryce Harper More Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Bryce Harper is coming off his amazing home run in the World Baseball Classic final, which unfortunately won’t go down in history because of the final result. That being said, Harper should be set for another big season. He is looking to start off on a strong note against Nathan Eovaldi, a pitcher he has seen many times before. Harper has 24 career at-bats against Eovaldi and is sporting a .333 batting average and a .929 OPS in those meetings. Last season, Harper was at his best against right-handed pitchers. He finished 2025 with a 105 tOPS+ against righties and a 92 tOPS+ against lefties. Meanwhile, Eovaldi struggled against left-handed batters, sporting a tOPS+ of 111 against lefties. Harper should get at least one hit in this game and has a great chance to get some runs on the board as well.

Josh Lowe More Than 0.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Josh Lowe is making his Angels debut in this game. He spent the first five seasons of his career in Tampa Bay, but is now on the West Coast. Last season was a bit of a struggle for Lowe, finishing with an 81 OPS+. That is just two years after Lowe had an exceptional OPS+ of 128. Hopefully, the change of scenery will get Lowe back to his solid level of consistency at the plate. This Opening Day matchup against Hunter Brown could be what Lowe needs to start the season strong. Brown was not as strong against lefties last season, with a tOPS+ of 105 against left-handed batters.
Part of the reason for Lowe’s bad numbers last season was the fact that he could not hit against lefties. Lowe batted just .165 against left-handed pitching last season. His .727 OPS against right-handed pitching is much more respectable than his season-long numbers. Brown is also 2/6 with a home run in his career against Brown. Lowe should be able to get a base hit or two in this game and use his speed to score a run once he gets on base.

What is DraftKings Pick6?
Pick6 is a peer-to-peer fantasy variant where you build a lineup (your “Pick Set”) of 2+ players and select whether or not you believe each will outperform their listed stat projection.
