DETROIT — The Detroit Tigers will open the 2026 regular season at Comerica Park on April 3, marking the debut of several facility upgrades following back-to-back postseason appearances. The home opener against the St. Louis Cardinals begins a season featuring two new premium seating areas and the launch of a new regional sports network.

The upgrades are part of a multiyear, $200 million investment designed to improve both fan and player experiences at the ballpark. In addition to physical renovations, the Tigers are introducing all-new marquee weekends, expanded food options from local Detroit businesses and a dedicated broadcast home through Detroit SportsNet.

The Tigers are debuting two new premium hospitality areas as part of a multiyear, $200 million investment in Comerica Park. The Press Club serves as an exclusive destination for 24 guests, featuring climate-controlled space and all-inclusive service adjacent to the media press box. The MotorCity Casino Hotel Tiger Club has also been expanded to offer season memberships for the first time. The updated Tiger Club includes 88 cushioned seats behind floor-to-ceiling windows, with memberships starting at $99 per seat for each game.

Ryan Gustafson serves as the president and CEO of Ilitch Sports + Entertainment. He noted that the organization intends to build on the team’s recent home-field advantage through these facility changes. “Tigers fans are the heartbeat of our organization and we are thrilled to unveil everything our fans can expect to see, taste and experience throughout the 2026 season at Comerica Park,” Gustafson said. “We’ve continued our investment to enhance the fan experience, with upgraded seating, food & beverage and merchandise options for a wide range of Tigers fans.”

The 2026 schedule includes several marquee weekends featuring themed celebrations and community activities. The franchise will celebrate its 125th Anniversary from July 24-26, honoring its history as a charter member of the American League since 1901. Other highlighted events include Strike Out Cancer Weekend from May 15-17, Black in Baseball Weekend from June 19-21 and the 21st annual ¡Fiesta Tigres! from Sept. 12-13. The team will also host postgame concerts featuring Nelly on June 19 and Flo Rida on July 24.

New food and beverage offerings are being introduced through a partnership with Delaware North Sportservice. Local restaurant partners including Breadless, Slow’s BBQ, Bert’s BBQ and Taqueria El Rey will provide diverse menu items such as the Sweet Heat Chicken Ranch wrap and the Grilled Cheese Sonoran Dog. Specialized items will also be available during Heritage Nights, such as gyro sliders for Greek Heritage Night on May 5 and Pollo Loco sliders for Hispanic Heritage Night on Sept. 12.

For fans watching from home, the team recently launched Detroit SportsNet as the year-round broadcast home for the Tigers and the Detroit Red Wings. Locally televised Tigers games will air on the network starting this season, with flexible viewing options through cable, satellite and in-market streaming. Digital access to highlights and news will remain available through the MLB App.The team is also launching the Tuesday Tee Drops program under the Tigers Design Series. On one Tuesday home game per month, starting April 21, the team will distribute limited-edition T-shirts created by local artists. New merchandise at The D Shop, presented by Meijer, includes newly unveiled alternate jerseys and a customization zone where fans can add names and numbers to blank jerseys.

Opening Day festivities begin with a block party presented by Miller Lite on April 3. While standing-room-only tickets remain for the home opener, tickets for the remainder of the regular season are currently available on the team’s website. Following the opening series against the St. Louis Cardinals, the giveaway schedule continues on April 11 with a Tigers hockey jersey for fans ages 21 and older.
